Worship and our Christian Values
Acts of Collective Worship
There is an act of collective worship every day.
The Association use the resources Values for Life as the basis for a three year rolling programme. VALUES FOR LIFE’ is produced by Gloucester Diocese. It provides themes for a three year period and is recommended specifically because it helps schools focus clearly on things which should be at the heart of the community when they gather together for Collective Worship. We cover each theme for half-term so that it can be adequately developed both in Collective Worship but also in the life of the school as a whole. Sometimes the pupils are asked to lead the worship on the half-termly theme. The pupils, in small groups, work together to share a story, a prayer and a reflection to deliver their message.
In addition each week our vicar Rev. Mark Bee and Ann lead school collective worship. They follow the liturgical calendar, teaching us about important times in the Christian year.
There is also an assembly each week which focuses on news events or key issues where we ask the children to apply the Christian and British values and to pose questions or make comments.
The final part of every school week is our Friday Sharing Assembly. Here we invite parents and carers to join us each week in celebrating the achievements of the children.
