Autumn Term 1 - Settling in
We have been busy settling back into Nursery, the children have come in happy, confident and ready to explore the learning environment.
We have been looking at the topic 'All About Me' and learning all about each others families, likes, dislikes, pets, and so much more.

Autumn
This half term we have been exploring the season change, the children have been noticing changes all around them such as leaves falling off the trees and turning a different colour. We have been on Autumn walks around the school grounds and collected fallen leaves to create art work with and also to use in our maths sessions.
Diwali
We learnt all about the Hindu festival of Diwali. First we read a non-fiction book and learned that Diwali is a 5 day festival of light and colour that signifies new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.
Christmas time
We have been busy in Nursery preparing for Christmas. The children will be performing 'The Wriggly Nativity' alongside Reception and it is being filmed for the parents to watch at home so we have been busy learning all of the songs and actions. We have been doing lots of Christmas craft activities and decorated trees to make Nursery look really festive.
We have been reading the Nativity story and using our special nativity figures to explore the bible story, the children are beginning to understand the importance of Jesus' birth in relation to celebrating Christmas.
Julia Donaldson Stories
This half term our author is 'Julia Donaldson', the children are loving reading all of her wonderful books. Our activities have been inspired by some of our favourite stories such as 'Superworm', 'What the Ladybird Heard' and 'Paperdolls'.
